Hello and welcome to IN THIS ECONOMY... My name is Dawn Shepherd, and I am the creator of this site. I am a freelance designer, recently with just a bit too much free time. I found myself obsessing over events concerning the national and global economy. I realized that I needed to channel this energy into something positive. Every time I turn on the news in the past weeks I hear 'in this economy...' Even news stories that have absolutely nothing to do with the economy start off with, "In this economy..." I hear it in conversations with my friends. It is, sadly, the new catch phrase. I decided to pick up on this and create a forum for all of us who have found ourselves in uncharted territory, in this economy. My goal is to create an interactive clearinghouse for information on the current U.S. economic crisis, offering economic news headlines, tips for living on less and enjoying it more, avoiding foreclosure, downsizing, dealing with stress, saving money, and finding the best bargains. A place where people from all around the country can stay informed, and share their experiences, tips and connect with others facing the same challenges. I hope you will join me on this road to regaining our economic equilibrium.
